Postdoctoral Associate Position in Atmospheric Chemistry at the Emory University, USA

A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the Department of Environmental Studies and the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, to work on one or both of the following projects:

- Impact of China’s vehicle emissions on air quality and health (Funded by the Energy Foundation)

- Land-atmosphere-climate interactions, focusing on soil nitrous oxide emissions (Funded by NOAA)

You will have opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary environment with researchers within Emory University and beyond. Emory University is a part of the EPA Clean Air Research Center and has significant collaborations with Georgia Institute of Technology. The Center for Disease Control is on campus, and there is ongoing collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the National Center for Atmospheric Research.

Applicants should have a PhD degree in atmospheric sciences, biogeochemistry, or other closely related fields, and be proficient in Fortran and other computer languages. Experience in analyzing large data sets and in running models (i.e., chemical transport model), as well as an interest or background in interdisciplinary research are highly desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills are important as the candidate will be expected to contribute to peer-reviewed publications and presentation of results at national and international conferences. The salary will be competitive and commensurate with relevant experience.
